In the heart of Nordring, Kamen, Germany, a new addition has been installed that promises to foster a love for reading and community spirit. Vonovia, a leading European residential property company, has collaborated with Lebenshilfe Hamm, an organisation dedicated to supporting people with disabilities, to create a book exchange cabinet at the local playground.

Crafted by Lebenshilfe Hamm, the book exchange cabinet is more than just a place to swap books. It's a testament to the collaboration between Vonovia and Lebenshilfe Hamm, a partnership that not only promotes education in the neighbourhood but also supports an organisation that advocates for people with disabilities.

The cabinet, equipped with an integrated bench, is designed specifically for children to use. It houses a collection of reading materials, including "The Gruffalo" and other children's and young adult literature, donated by Vonovia employees.

Simone Müssing, Regional Manager at Vonovia, emphasised the importance of this collaboration. She said, "The construction of the book cabinet at Nordring is a significant step towards fostering a sense of community and supporting a worthy cause."

Residents of Nordring are encouraged to contribute to the collection by donating their own books. Anyone can take, exchange, or add books at the book exchange cabinet without registration or fees.

The amount paid by Vonovia for the construction of the book cabinet directly benefits Lebenshilfe Hamm, supporting their important work. This collaboration is part of Vonovia's ongoing support for Lebenshilfe Hamm, having previously contributed to several wood projects, including the construction of the book cabinet at Nordring.

While there is no available information about who created the book cabinet at the Nordring location, one thing is certain: it was crafted with creative ideas and production by Lebenshilfe Hamm. This initiative is a perfect example of how businesses and local organisations can work together to create a positive impact in their communities.
